‘’ I started coming to The Second Place in February 2023. I was attracted by the idea of a space where people could come and work on their goals without having to spend money to do it. I was also searching for a sense of community after the isolating experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic and my own recent health issues.
The Second Place has become that community for me. It’s somewhere I go to feel supported and encouraged — a rare space where it’s okay to ask for help, and no one asks for anything in return.
Thanks to the feedback, insights, and reassurance I’ve received at these biweekly meetings, in the span of a year I’ve gone from someone who has difficulty just leaving the house to an active member of my community with a vibrant social life. I am now able to start focusing on professional goals that I’ve had to put off for so long — and once again The Second Place is where I go for support in achieving this.
I am often amazed at the vulnerability shown by our members when they share their stories, their hopes, their goals. In creating The Second Place and endowing it with her generous spirit and openness, Kesha has provided a space that our community sorely needed — somewhere for people to connect with others and reconnect with themselves. ‘’
